Australia - Online tourist visa to expand to Turkey

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has announced that citizens of Turkey who hold a service, special or diplomatic passport will soon have access to the electronic tourist visa.

From 20 September 2011, citizens of Turkey who hold these passports can apply for the e676 electronic tourist visa (known as e676 Tourist visa) online.

The application process is fast, secure and convenient, and gives applicants the ability to check the progress of their application electronically.

The visa does not require a visa label to be placed in a passport.

Citizens of Turkey who are unable to lodge an e676 application online or who hold a standard Turkish passport will continue to lodge their tourist visa application directly with the Australian Embassy in Ankara.

Further information will be made available closer to the launch date.
